Short version: Buddy runs on your computer. We don't have a server in the middle of your conversations, and we don't want your data.
Your chats, projects, settings, pet, Studio creations and API keys are stored in your user folder on your own machine. API keys are encrypted with your operating system's keychain. None of it is sent to us.
When you send Buddy a message, it goes to whichever provider you chose and paid for — Anthropic, OpenAI or Google — under their privacy policy. If your message is about your screen and you allow it, a screenshot goes with it. If you point Buddy at a local model, nothing leaves your computer at all.
If you create a community account, that server stores your name, a scrypt-hashed password, and whatever you post or share. Anything you share is public to other members. You can delete your creations; ask an admin to remove your account. The community runs over plain HTTP today, so don't reuse an important password there.
Nothing. No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no ads. The website doesn't set cookies.
Buddy isn't directed at children under 13 and community accounts shouldn't be created by them.
If this changes — particularly when subscriptions arrive — the page will be updated and dated. Questions: the community forum.
