Buddy hides in the corners of your monitors. Move your cursor into one and he pops up to say hi. Click him and he'll actually do things on your computer.
Buddy runs on your own AI account — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or a local model on your machine. Nothing goes through us.
Ask him to find a file, fix a typo across a folder, run a command, or click through something on screen. He asks before he acts.
He stays tucked away with just his ears out until you call him — cursor into a corner, a click, or a shortcut. Never in the way.
Drop him on a video call and he'll perch on someone's tile, ride along when the window moves, and fall off when it closes.
Fullness, energy and happiness that actually change how he behaves. Feed him from the snack toolkit — or drop a cookie on the floor and watch.
Five species, dozens of coats, 21 stacking accessories, and a Studio where you can paint your own clothing and build your own animations.
Share outfits, pixel art and animations, talk in the forum and chat rooms, and pick up what everyone else has made.
Every animation and accessory works on all of them.
Free while he's in early access. No account needed to start — you'll add your own AI key on first run.
First launch shows a security warning on every platform (the app isn't code-signed yet). It takes one click to get past — the setup guide walks through it step by step for macOS, Windows and Linux, and shows how to give him an AI brain.
Buddy is free. Plus is for people who want him on every computer.
The whole app. No card, no account.
Buddy Plus. Cancel any time.
Sign in on the web or get it inside the app — same account, same subscription.
Only to the AI provider you choose, and only when you ask. He takes a screenshot only for messages that are actually about your screen, and file changes, commands and mouse control each ask for approval unless you turn that off. There's no Buddy account required and no server of ours in the middle.
Yes — Buddy uses your own account. Paste an API key from Anthropic, OpenAI or Google, or point him at a local model (Ollama, LM Studio) and pay nothing at all.
Cloud backup and sync across your computers, the Gold coat, a ✦ in the community, early access, and supporting development. Payment is through Stripe: in Buddy → Community, press Get Buddy Plus and you'll finish in your browser. Manage or cancel from the same place. The app and your own AI key keep working without it.
That's off by default. When you turn it on, he asks once per request before clicking or typing, and you can stop him mid-task. He treats anything he reads on screen as information, never as instructions.
The community server is open and included in the source. The shipped builds connect to the official one so everyone's in the same place.
Code-signing certificates cost money and we haven't bought them yet. The macOS builds are ad-hoc signed so they run; the warnings go away once the app is notarized.
